Watercolor Painting
with Junco Uras
Paper
We will use two to three small sheets of watercolor paper per class.
You may work in any size you are comfortable with, but please do not bring wire-bound watercolor pads.
Junco’s Recommendations:

Arches Watercolor Paper – Cold Press, 22×30",140 lb sheet (can be cut into 1/8 or 1/4 sheets and taped to the class painting board)

Strathmore 300 Series Watercolor Pad – Cold Press, 9×12", 140 lb

Also bring a pad or inexpensive watercolor paper for value studies and sketching with pencil.

Paint
Student-grade Winsor & Newton Cotman watercolor tubes (5–8 ml) are recommended. Please avoid cake/pan sets.

Any palette you are comfortable with (Junco likes the John Pike Palette or a Butcher’s tray).

Brushes
Junco prefers Princeton Neptune or Escoda Versatil brushes, but any brand is fine.

1" flat brush

Any additional brushes you like to use

Water container (plastic yogurt or sour cream containers work well)
